Clause 23

provides for notice to be given to both the person on whom the notice to appear was served and the Magistrates' Court after the lapsing of a notice to appear. If a decision is made not to prosecute or a charge-sheet is not filed within 14 days, the police or public official must, within 7 days, notify the person in writing that no charge-sheet has been filed and that the person is no longer required to attend court.
