Clause 154

provides that, if a corporate accused does not appear in answer to a summons for an indictable offence, the court may conduct a committal proceeding in the absence of the accused if satisfied that the accused is aware of the charge and date of the related committal mention hearing and that is appropriate to do so. If the court conducts a committal proceeding in the corporate accused's absence, the clause provides it with a discretion to dispense with or vary any requirement imposed under this Chapter.
