414 Acknowledgment of false statement

A person is liable to the penalties of perjury if—
(a)the person makes a written statement for the purposes of a criminal proceeding or potential criminal proceeding or the investigation of an offence; and
(b)the statement contains an acknowledgment signed in the presence of a person referred to in Schedule 3 that the statement is true and correct and is made in the belief that a person making a false statement in the circumstances is liable to the penalties of perjury; and
(c)the person knows at the time of signing the acknowledgment that the statement is false.
