405 Meaning of term official record

(1)For the purposes of the last preceding section, an official record of a marriage shall be such record of marriages as is required by law to be kept, or as is made by law evidence of marriages celebrated in that portion of His Majesty's dominions in which the same is kept.
(2)Nothing in this or the last preceding section shall apply to the proof of a marriage celebrated or of a ceremony of marriage performed in Victoria.
